We long to be all that we can be, all that we were created to be. However, becoming whole and healthy can be a distressing and painful process. Painful experiences, traumatic events and living with people who are imperfect take its toll on us and keep us from being all that we know we can be. We develop defense mechanisms to help us survive and protect ourselves, and having used them for years, we are unaware how much they trip us up and hold us back. When life becomes overwhelming and too uncomfortable we seek counseling. In therapy, these mechanisms are exposed, and new living strategies take their place as we are healed and restored. We can face our pain, forgive those who hurt us and learn to live more fully using new skills. My commitment to YOU!
